HMS Software Announces Strategic Alliance With Asta Development PLC

Montréal, Québec - January 16, 2001 - HMS Software, a leading provider of enterprise timekeeping solutions for project environments today announced a strategic alliance with ASTA Development Plc of the United Kingdom. ASTA Development is the publisher of Teamplan, a leading project management system recognized worldwide.

The alliance includes a link between ASTA's Teamplan and HMS's TimeControl which has been developed jointly by the two companies. Under the agreement, ASTA will be able to sell TimeControl on its own or bundled with Teamplan. Sales will be both direct and through its extensive dealer channel.

"TimeControl's uniqueness and it's proven track record has made it a product that we can include with Teamplan. It's web capability and installed user base makes it very attractive to us," says Richard Ormerod of ASTA Development Plc.

Management at HMS were equally enthusiastic about the new relationship. "We're very excited about the new relationship with ASTA," says Chris Vandersluis, president of HMS Software. ASTA's Teamplan and TimeControl make for a great combination that I think users will be happy with. This extends the number of links to project management systems to exceed any other project oriented timesheet system. It's a mark of how well TimeControl is being accepted into the market."

HMS Software's latest version, 3.3.2 which was released to coincide with this announcement includes the Teamplan link.

"We've been developing this link in cooperation with the ASTA Staff," explains Vandersluis. "We've had ASTA technical people in our development offices here in Montreal and our technical staff over in the UK to make sure we got the link just right."

ASTA's sales channel will begin selling TimeControl immediately. The ASTA dealer channel which has representation in Germany, Hong Kong, New York, Germany, Netherlands, and Sweden.
