Microsoft renews Technology Alliance with HMS Software
Montreal, April 24, 2015 - HMS Software, the publisher of TimeControl, one of the world's most popular timesheet systems announced today that it has renewed its technical alliance with Microsoft. This is the 12th consecutive year in which HMS is a certified partner within the Microsoft Partner Network though the relationship between the firms is now enjoying its 20th anniversary.
“In 1995 HMS became an inaugural member of the Microsoft Project Solution Partner program,” explains Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. “The link between the first version of TimeControl and Microsoft Project prompted the Microsoft Project team and HMS to work together and we have maintained a close relationship ever since.”
HMS Software’s TimeControl timesheet has had an integration with every version of Microsoft Project since 1995 and with Microsoft Project Server since it was first launched in 2002. In 2006 Microsoft named HMS a “First to Market” partner for its work integrating TimeControl with Project Server.
This year HMS has renewed its Microsoft Partner certifications in both the Application Development and Project and Portfolio Management. To qualify for these programs, HMS has had to demonstrate success integrating TimeControl with Microsoft Project and Project Server with client testimonials and to have multiple HMS personnel pass Microsoft Project and Project Server testing. In addition, HMS had its TimeControl timesheet system successfully pass external 3rd party testing which is part of the Microsoft Partner Network program.
“TimeControl supports numerous Microsoft technologies,” explains Stephen Eyton-Jones, Director of Technical Services at HMS. “Since those technologies are also evolving at the same time as TimeControl, it’s critical for HMS to be able to keep up with the latest Microsoft systems and technical support as well as be able to work on upcoming versions of those systems before they’re even released.”
Microsoft technology is used to deliver both TimeControl and HMS Software’s in-the-cloud TimeControl Online service functionality and what technologies are used can vary from client to client. Windows Server is the platform for the server, some clients will combine that with Microsoft Project or Project Server, SharePoint or SQL Server.
“HMS is highly committed to the Microsoft relationship,” explains Vandersluis. “The long standing nature of the relationship means that the two firms have many contacts at many different levels at the business, technology and strategic levels. Both Microsoft and HMS have benefited from this relationship over the years, ensuring that we communicate with each other so we can provide the best possible solutions to our clients.”
Using HMS Software’s TimeControl with Microsoft technologies allows clients to enhance their business processes to comply with numerous timesheet requirements such as simultaneous project tracking, billing, HR management, payroll, job costing and auditable governance such as Reasearch and Development tax credits, DCAA or Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
