Oracle renews its technical alliance with HMS Software for a 27th straight year

Oracle Partner Network
Oracle and HMS Software have agreed to renew their technical partnership for a twenty-seventh consecutive year.

Montreal – May 15, 2024 – HMS Software, publishers of TimeControl, the industry’s most popular multi-function timesheet system announced today that Oracle has certified HMS in its Oracle Partner Network for a twenty-seventh consecutive year.

“The technical alliance forged between HMS Software and Oracle back in 1997 continues to endure and expand,” explains Chris Vandersluis, President of HMS Software. “Both firms have contributed time and effort to ensuring that our mutual clients and prospective clients receive the best integrated products in the industry. Our TimeControl system integrates with an extended range of Oracle technology including Oracle Primavera EPPM and Primavera Pro, Oracle NetSuite, JD Edwards and PeopleSoft and it supports Oracle architecture such as the Oracle and MySQL databases.

The Oracle Partner Network program enables technical alliances with publishers such as HMS Software to work directly with Oracle personnel on the design, maintenance and development of their products to support their mutual clients. Being part of the Oracle Partner Network provides HMS with early access to Oracle technology and expertise in order to support Oracle products when they are released.

“Every software publisher builds on a shifting foundation,” explains Stephen Eyton-Jones, HMS Software’s Director of Technical Services. “Even as we are working on new features, the integration with Oracle Products like Oracle Primavera or architecture products like MySQL are being enhanced and new versions being released. We have to be able to work with Oracle in the database layer, the application layer and even the integration/API layer to ensure that the clients are taken care of. Working directly with Oracle as a technology alliance partner allows us to do that.”

Some of TimeControl's value-added benefits when integrated with Oracle-Primavera include: unlimited rates per employee, automated business rule validations, automated workflow, missing timesheet notification, expense and non-labor cost tracking, simultaneous support for multiple versions of Oracle Primavera, and matrix timesheet approvals with HMS's unique Matrix Approval Process for Labor Actuals™. This process allows project managers to be able to approve hours task-by-task and departmental supervisors to approve hours and costs with an unlimited number of approval levels.

TimeControl and TimeControl Industrial includes the free TimeControl Mobile App for Android and iOS devices.

TimeControl's Industrial version also includes crew timesheets and field-data-collection capabilities to update Primavera and Finance with material consumption, equipment usage and even production-accomplished information. This information provides Primavera with both labor and non-labor costs to the project management system and both labor and non-labor cost information to Finance.

"We’re very pleased to extend this alliance for the 2024-2025 season,” says Vandersluis. “This is a key partnership for us but the real beneficiaries of Oracle and HMS working together are our shared clients."

The TimeControl suite includes TimeControl on-premise, TimeControl Industrial on-premise, TimeControl Online in the Cloud, TimeControl Industrial Online in the Cloud and TimeControl Project. In-the-cloud products are offered as a subscription service. On-premise product licenses are offered for purchase for an on-premise deployment.
